Blue Abuse; It’s Systemic

They enjoyed the beating. All five of them. They gleefully participated in it confident that the blue would protect their Black skins as they destroyed yet another Black man treating him as so many police treat Black men without consequence.

They are all young Black men ignorant of history. Unaware or uncaring that beating like the one they participated in allowed for police reform that opened the door for their good paying jobs.  They were in their positions as the result of beatings and lynchings and raids and massacres.  The affirmative action. The marching.  The demands.  They were there to make it better. Be on the inside to create change.  Instead, they adapted the ways of the overseer the colonizer the racist "the man. " They acted as the oppressor because the power made them giddy and hard.

Back the blue.  Rah rah.  Who?  Their fraternal order is getting ready to denounce them, drag them and give them the ass whooping they couldn't imagine. They disgraced the blue. Because they showed the world how ugly the blue can be.  Only far right Republicans can justify this. But they will not put their propaganda machine behind this.  Their pets went rogue. Their dogs went rabid.  They were bad pet owners and the world saw it.

I pray for Tyre Nichols’s family who will not be able to escape this trauma as it is repeated over and over and over until a mass shooting knocks it out of the news.
