Be Amazing

On the first day of early voting in Texas, I got up early. I put on my Chucks, and I went to vote.

I bought the Chucks when I saw that my sorority sister, Kamala Harris, wore them and moved like a boss in them.

While standing in line, I saw a young man voting with his mother. Amazing.

I voted with my sister. Amazing.

I saw white people in line with us at the Martin Luther King Center. Amazing.

Everyone was talking and excited about voting.  Excited about voting. Wow! Amazing.

I saw elderly people, physically impaired people, determined people. Amazing.

We all talked. We were all worried. The polls say one thing. We see one thing. But we all know there are ways to cheat. There are ways to steal. They do it by sending their minions to suppress the vote by stealing mailboxes---removing mail counting machines---closing polling places.

We cannot go along with it. If you see something, say something. Make a voting plan and stick to it; but be prepared to go somewhere else if necessary. Wear comfortable shoes. Take a collapsible chair and a bottle of water. Be in it for the long haul.

Be amazing.
